CalTel records 5% revenue hike

Calcutta Telephones has clocked five per cent increase in its revenue, at Rs 1200 crore, for the financial year ending March 31, 2004, S P Chakraborty, chief general manager, CalTel, said.
 
The state run service provider has added 1.2 lakh new fixed line subscriber during last year even as it could not met the demand for GSM connections.
 
The CGM said CalTel was planning to give 1.5 new wireline connections this fiscal.
 
"But the big thrust this year will be on Cell One connections," he said in Kolkata.
