Canada NRI in Hyd hospital for suspected flu

An NRI from Ontario in Canada was admitted to a hospital here for suspected H1N1 Flu after he complained of fever, sore throat and body pain, doctors attending on him said today.

According to K Subhakar, Professor, Respiratory medicine at the Government Chest hospital, the 37-year-old NRI who came to the city last week, volunteered to get himself examined last evening following which he was admitted.

The NRI also underwent tests and his samples have been sent for examination, he said.

So far, two persons -- including a 29-year-old from Frankfurt in Germany, who arrived here yesterday morning with cough and fever has been admitted for suspected Flu, Subhakar said.

Both of them have been kept in isolation till the illness is confirmed, he said adding their reports are awaited.

Samples of other passengers sent during the last five days to National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) proved negative and there was no single Swine Flu case reported here, the doctor said.

Meanwhile, doctors at the Hyderabad International Airport told PTI this morning that no case of suspected Swine Flu was found during the screening of passengers of international flights landing here last night and early this morning.
