Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy today called for cancellation of all the 2G spectrum licences and said he had already moved the Delhi High Court in this regard.
Swamy also said he would also approach a designated court shortly for the prosecution of former communications minister A Raja, who was forced to quit in the wake of the heightened 2G spectrum controversy. Swamy also said he has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for providing security cover to Raja, who he said, was facing threats on his life.
However, he gave a clean chit to the Prime Minister in the alleged scam but said his role in the entire issue was of Bhisma Pitamah, who mutely witnessed “all the sins”.
For cancellation of the 2G spectrum licences, he cited the example of cancellation of petrol pumps during the time of Justice Kuldip Singh and said he has already filed a petition in the Delhi High Court where the hearing is expected to begin next month. After the cancellation, he said the government should go for auction of the licences.
“This is the biggest scam that the world has ever seen. All the 2G licences should be cancelled and a fresh auction must be held in this regard,” he said.
