The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday registered an FIR against former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, among others, for alleged irregularities in selection of police officers in connection with the Vyapam scam.
A CBI spokesperson here said cases of alleged criminal conspiracy, cheating and forgery under the Indian Penal Code, violation of provisions of Information Technology Act and under Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered on the basis of the FIR registered by a Special Task Force. The FIR was registered against 38 persons, including Pankaj Trivedi, the then controller of examinations, Vyapam; Om Prakash Shukla, the then OSD to the minister for technical education; Dhanraj Yards, the then OSD, Raj Bhavan; and Nitin Mohindra, the then systems analyst, Vyapam, sources said.
