The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday questioned Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju in connection with the financial scam at the IT services company. The questioning will continue tomorrow also.

Raju was questioned for about three hours. The investigating agency had yesterday served a notice on Raju asking him to appear before it for further questioning on the Satyam scam.

The questioning pertained to alleged fund diversion from Satyam to foreign countries, to which the CBI has sent Letters Rogatory and was awaiting replies. Letters Rogatory is a formal request from a court to a foreign court for judicial assistance. To be sent through a consular or diplomatic channels, these are mainly meant for obtaining evidence.

According to CBI officials, Raju cooperated with them and appeared alone without his counsel.

Raju was discharged from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) here last week. He was undergoing treatment for Hepatitis C at Nims since September last year.
