In a fresh bid to get the remaining bank documents relating to the Bofors pay-offs case, CBI director R C Sharma has written to the Swiss authorities to expedite the transfer of the papers which may hold the key to the sixth Bofors account.
In the letter sent last week, the agency chief urged federal police authorities in Berne to take steps to make available the classified bank documents to India at an early date, CBI sources said.
Sharma urged Rudolf Wyss, vice director of the international legal assistance department of the federal police office, to continue their cooperation with CBI and thanked them for the steps taken so far.
