In yet another attempt to improve the ease of doing business in India, services of central government departments and ministries will go online by the month-end.

All the concerned departments will now be integrated with the 'eBiz' portal that will be the first step towards achieving a single-window clearance mechanism.

The government is also planning to smoothen the whole process of setting up and running a business venture in the country by relaxing the measures pertaining to de-licensing and de-regulation that will sure speedy and faster clearance of all required approvals and maintain transparency.

"Services of all Central government departments and ministries will be integrated with 'eBiz', a single window platform, for services by 31 December 2014," minister of state for commerce and industry (independent charge) Nirmala Sitharaman said here today while addressing the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT).

She said that the government after coming to power in May has taken several steps to make India investor as well as business friendly.

This, she said, was possible by aligning several complex procedures with the eBiz portal of the government, such as, online application of industrial licenses and industrial entrepreneur memorandum.

These documents are now available 24x7 for entrepreneurs and investors willing to set up shop anywhere in the country. "We are moving carefully and making sure that decisions are going to enable better manufacturing and thereby enable better exports too," she said.

India has been ranked 142 among the 189 countries in the latest report by the World Bank on ease of doing business, falling two places from last year's ranking.

The government has said that positive impact of new reforms should be reflected in the next year's ranking, even as it aims to bring India's ranking in the top 50.

Reiterating her government's push for boosting manufacturing growth in the country she said it is turning out to be a huge success and could also address socio-economic problems.
