Prasad said the ministry was ready to fund any project proposal that would lead to more jobs in the small-scale and the cottage industry segment.

Citing examples, he said that the state government could forward viable projects on cottage industries, khadi, coir, coconut and silk to the Centre for release of funds.

The central minister invited Bansagopal Chaudhury, the state C&SSI minister, to forward such projects for consideration by the government.

Prasad said the ministry would work on the request of the West Bengal government to set up an entrepreneur development institute and another industrial park in Howrah.

Meanwhile, Anupam Dasgupta, secretary of the C&SSI ministry, said three issues were required to be considered for the success of the sector.
