Centre releases Rs 104 cr for Andhra

The central government has released an amount of Rs 104.51 crore to Andhra Pradesh under the centrally-sponsored accelerated rural water supply programme (ARWSP).
 
The amount was released towards first installment of funds against the provisional allocation of Rs 209.02 crore for 2005-06.
 
The allocation of funds is provisional and likely to be changed during the course of the year. The released amount should be utilised for execution/completion of schemes to provide safe drinking water facilities to rural habitations and schools.
 
The Centre has also released an amount of Rs 65 lakh to Andhra Pradesh towards first installment of accelerated rural water supply programme "� development of drought prone areas programme against the provisional allocation of Rs 130 lakh for the year 2005-06.
 
The release is being made for execution/completion of schemes to provide safe drinking water facilities to rural habitations and schools under the centrally-ponsored ARWSP "� DDP areas programe.
