Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has given approval to set up a state-of-the-art model Centre for Training & Employment (C-PYTE) in the state.

There is also a plan to replicate the model in centres at the district headquarter with a view to imparting job-oriented training to the youth.

Badal said this model C-PYTE centre would be equipped with the latest infrastructure to provide training to the youth in the armed and para-military forces manned by expert ex-servicemen.

He also gave in-principle approval to open seven new C-PYTE centres at Hoshiarpur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Barnala, Moga, Ropar, Sangrur and Jalandhar besides two such centres exclusively for girls, at Tarn Taran and Mansa.

The CM asked the principal secretary, employment generation & training to tie up with consulates abroad and in the embassies in Delhi for the gainful employment of trained youth from the C-PYTE centres as heavy machinery drivers, security guards, construction workers, lathe machine operators, turners, plumbers and healthcare workers.
