CEPC plans carpet centre in Rajasthan

The Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) has sought the Rajasthan government's assistance in setting up a centre of the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology in the state.

The proposed centre would help the non-farm rural sector and uplift the artisans of the state, said CEPC Chairman Vijay Thakur.

The conference was in line with the action plan submitted by the council to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the upliftment of rural artisans of the carpet industry, he said.
