Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh today condemned the Naxal attack on security forces that left 76 personnel dead in Dantewada district and said their martyrdom will not go waste.
He expressed grief over the loss of lives and described the killings as the height of Naxal violence, official sources said here.
The government, society and the countrymen will unitedly fight the violence unleashed by the extremists, who have exceeded all limits. The Naxals have revealed their true colours with this violent act, Singh added.
"It was an inhuman, shameless and cowardice act," he said, adding, despite the attack the morale of the CRPF and state police was very high.
The Chief Minister has conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families, the sources said.
Soon after learning about the attack, Singh convened a meeting of the Director General of Police and senior officials to take stock of the situation and asked them to provide best medical treatment to the injured security men.
The officials were asked to send enforcements to the security personnel fighting the Naxals at the site of today's attack, the sources added.
