"For management of 32 hotels and motels located across the state, the state government has invited EOI," Brijmohan Agrawal, minister for tourism, stated in a written reply, in the state legislative assembly on Wednesday.
The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board (CTB) is renovating and upgrading 18 guest houses in the state, the minister has said, adding that 34 Sulabh toilets will also be constructed in the state.
The state government through CTB is taking apporpriate measures to promote tourism and attract higher number of tourists to the state," Agrawal said. Attractive tourist destinations are being developed, he added.
The board has set up 16 tourist information centres across the country to disseminate information about tourist spots in Chhattisgarh. Through the centres, tourists planning to visit Chhattisgarh can book hotels and tour packages, the minister added.
The other steps being taken by the board include putting up sign boards at crossroads that in turn can direct tourists to spots easily. Initiative is also being taken for publicity of tourist spots.
