Chhattisgarh government on Sunday started a campaign that would run in three phases to take governance to the doorstep of people.
In the first phase of the campaign named Lok Suraj Abhiyan, camps would be organised in 11,000 gram panchayats and 168 civic body wards across the state. In the camp, officials would receive the complaint from the people in the prescribed format.
In the second phase from March 1 to April 2, necessary action would be taken on complaints received from the people. A state government spokesperson said the Budget provision would be made on proposals received from the people. In the second phase, the grievances of the people would be redressed.
The third phase of the campaign would start from April 2 and continue till April 20. In this phase, the Chief Minister, ministers and senior officials would conduct surprise inspection in the villages and camps. They would talk to the villagers and the complainants to get first-hand information about the redressal of grievances.
The state government has themed the campaign as “target redressal”. The campaign this year added significance as it is seen as a warm-up for the state poll due in November next year.
In 2018, the authorities would not be able to deliver much. For, it would be an election year that would reduce the implementation rate while not much time would be left after 2018 summer for the authorities to attend people’s grievances effectively. The campaign is organised every year during summer.
