Chhattisgarh government will build the 110-km long four-lane road between Raipur and Bilaspur on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
State’s Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Brijmohan Agrawal informed in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly that the department had invited tender for conducting feasibility of the project and would soon start the work.
Agrawal said the 110-km road that would connect the state capital with the judicial capital of the state in Bilaspur would be built in three years. On a proposal sent by the state government, the Union Government had given in-principle consent to build Raipur-Bilaspur four-lane road on PPP model, he added.
The Minister informed the House that the state government had not sent any proposal to the Centre to include state roads on National Highway (NH) projects in last five years. Earlier, the Union Government had declared 11 state roads as NH.
“But the Centre does not have fund to build the roads and hence, the state government is demanding that all the proposals that it has sent earlier shall be returned so that we can take up the projects on PPP basis,” the Minister said.
