After nearly a decade, milk produced in the state-own federation will have its own brand name. The Chhattisgarh government has decided to brand milk produced here as Deobhog Dugdh replacing Sanchi.
The packed milk produced in the state-owned Raipur Dugdh Sangh had been marketed in the entire state with the brand named after Madhya Pradesh’s historic archeological and ancient site Sanchi. The brand name continued even after Chhattisgarh was carved out of Madhya Pradesh as separate state.
The state government had approved a proposal of the Sangh to name the milk and other products including butter-milk, ghee, paneer and curd after Deobhog. At a function held here on Thursday afternoon, Chief Minister Raman Singh launched Deobhog milk.
