Chhattisgarh’s economy is expected to grow at a rate of 7.05% over the previous year in 2013-14 as per the advance estimates.
The state has also registered an impressive growth in other sectors as compared to the National figure, the Economic Survey for the Year 2013-14 tabled by the state government Friday said.
As per the quick estimate, Chhattisgarh has scored over All India figure while comparing the growth rate during year 2012-13 at constant price. The report said that Chhattisgarh registered a growth of 8.89% in agriculture sector; much ahead of All India’s 1.41%.

Similarly, the industry sector registered a growth of 5.38% while the All India figure stood at 0.96%. The service sector in the state grew at a rate of 9.09% as compared to All India figure of 7%.
“As per the advance estimate, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) at current price is likely to grow at 7.05% over the previous year,” the report said. The growth in agriculture sector, industry and service sector are expected to be more by 2.62%, 6.07% and 10.18% respectively over the previous year, it added.
As per advance estimate, the GSDP at current price is likely to increase to Rs 1,75,961 crore in the year 2013-14 from Rs 1,53,621 crore as estimated for the year 2012-13.
The first revised quick estimates for the year 2012-13 at constant price underlined that Chhattisgarh’s GSDP registered a growth of 7.56% over the previous year 2011-12. The agriculture and industry sector have grown at 8.89% and 5.38% over the previous year.
The per capita income is likely to reach Rs 56,990 during 2013-14, the economic survey said. In 2011-12, the per capita income was Rs 44,505 that had increased to Rs 50,691 in 2012-13 as per quick estimates.
