A Trade Centre would come up in the new capital of Chhattisgarh in sprawling 100 acres of land.
“The Chhattisgarh Trade Centre (as it would be known) would be set up in Tuta village under the Naya Raipur Development Authority,”state’s commerce and industry, housing and environment minister Rajesh Munat informed in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly on Monday. The Centre would be one of the model projects, he added.
The Delhi-based, Consulting Engineering Service (CES) had been appointed as consultant for architect planning and design for the Chhattisgarh Trade Centre (CTC), the minister said, adding that an area of 100 acres had been identified for the project.
Munat said the Centre would have all the facilities to hold major trade and business events in the state capital. Besides Trade Fair, the CTC would also hold conferences, business meet, cultural and commercial functions.
The state government had also planned to set up a big conventional centre in about 125,000 square feet area in the CTC. The hall would be used for holding state’s foundation day celebration, the Rajyaotsav, Munat added.
The minister also announced to set up a small industrial area in the Dantewada district that is known in the national map for Naxalite activities. Munat said the industrial area would come up in Teknaar village and it would prove to be a milestone for the development of the area.
The Chhattisgarh government had also decided to speed up the work of Naya Raipur, the new capital city of the state, coming up about 20 km from here.
“The state government has made a provision of Rs 10 crore in the budget (2012-13) for developing three railway stations in the Naya Raipur,” Munat said.
