Finance Minister P Chidambaram has three concerns but is not worried about the state of the economy."I have no worries, I have three concerns. The main concern is that we should not flag in our resolve to maintain fiscal prudence and fiscal stability. That is fundamental. Growth has taken place for the last three to four years because of our unwavering commitment to fiscal prudence and stability. We should not allow that to flag."Investment is key to growth. Every impediment to investment must be removed whether in public sector, private sector or domestic and foreign," he said.He said nothing should be done to impede investment. "I am not saying anybody is impeding. There are impediments. We are slow in removing these impediments. We must quickly remove those impediments.""The third concern is we are not paying enough attention to human resources. A large country like India has to depend on its own human resources. Skill shortages are emerging. At the higher end, there are clear shortages emerging."We must acquire and retain a competitive edge. We must become a knowledge society. We must pay attention to the quality of human resources at the highest level of astro-physicist to the space scientist to the lowest level of a welder, a mason, a carpenter," he said.
