The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) western region chairperson Anu Aga would lead a delegation of senior CII members to discuss various issues of concern to the industry with Gujarat chief minister Keshubhai Patel at his residence in Gandhinagar on Friday.
One of the important issues that is likely to come up for discussion is the reforms agenda of the state government, especially in the power sector. This meeting assumes more significance in view of the recent statement made in the Gujarat Assembly by state finance minister Vaju Vala that his government would not make the meter system compulsory for the farm sector.
This is being perceived as a serious setback to reforms suggested by the Asian Development Bank and the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Authority.
Before its meeting with the Gujarat chief minister, the CII western regional council would meet in Ahmedabad at Hotel Taj Residency Ummed to discuss the industry
