After international i-banks and consulting firms kicked off the Cluster One of IIM-Ahmedabad’s new Cohort-based placement process last weekend, it is now the turn of domestic firms to take part in Cluster Two that is beginning tomorrow.

Cluster One of the premier management institute ended on a high note, with both Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Co making eight offers each. While sources within the campus alluded to Indian i-banking and marketing regulars to visit the campus, the institute maintained silence. A member of the placement committee said, “We will only be able to provide details of Cluster Two on Sunday evening through an official press release.”

On the first day of Cluster One, most of the firms visited the campus and made offers. However, much of the activities fizzled out the next day. The first Cluster had companies across four cohorts — international i-banks, global strategy consulting, global niche consulting and private equity/venture capital. The new process allowed recruiters to interact with students for a longer duration.
