Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today asked private sector hospitals to focus more on providing cheaper healthcare to the poor and to use technology for reaching the rural areas.
Addressing a seminar on ‘Transforming healthcare with IT 2011’ here, he said, “Better healthcare should not be only for the elite. Hospitals should add more beds and provide low cost healthcare for the poor.”
India had made its mark on the global healthcare front and Hyderabad was emerging as the healthcare capital of India, he said, adding the state had set itself as a role model by implementing various projects and policies in healthcare.
