Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa is all set to induct M P Renukacharya, one of the dissident MLAs into his cabinet, soon. “There is one vacancy in the ministry. I will induct one into the cabinet as soon as possible,” Yeddyurappa told reporters here.
Though he did not name Renukacharya, sources said he was poised to get a cabinet berth after yesterday’s meeting of party leaders decided to clear the induction of the Honnali MLA into the ministry. Renukacharya and some disgruntled MLAs have been pushing for ministerial berths by holding separate parleys in resorts. Yeddyurappa admitted there were three-four ministerial contenders but he could accommodate only one at this stage.
He ruled out dropping any minister or cabinet reshuffle before March, saying the focus of the government now is to give a “good budget”. Yeddyurappa recently faced rebellion from a section of MLAs led by tourism minister G Janaradhana Reddy and his brother and Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy, who had demanded his removal. He had, however, managed to weather the crisis following the intervention by the party central leadership.
