WAF is a recognised global organisation that brings world leaders together from across value chains and between public and private sectors and civil society to promote a food secure world.
The theme of the congress, which is expected to be attended by 300 delegates from world over, is 'Re-shaping Agriculture for a sustainable future: Focus on small farm holders.'

The chief minister said the congress and fair would provide an opportunity for the farmers to get a first hand knowledge of the best practices and methodologies adopted world-wide. The state government would bear the delegates' fee for the participation of the best or model (Adarsh) farmers and representatives of various farmer organisations.
According to an official release, about 5,000 farmers from 22 districts of the state will be brought at the organisers expense and given free entry to the venue besides free food and accommodation.
The state government had already formed various committees for supervising the necessary arrangements. There will be about 150 stalls at the trade fair to be set up by national and international agri-service providers.
