The fate of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's daughter-in-law and that of the wife and son of his predecessor Amarinder Singh will be sealed in the election to four of the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state tomorrow. About 52.75 lakh voters would seal the fate of 79 candidates, including three women and 37 Independents for the four seats of Bathinda, Patiala, Sangrur and Ferozepur in the fourth phase of the countrywide polls tomorrow.
The remaining nine Lok Sabha constituencies would join the nation in the fifth phase of polling on May 13.Of the four seats in Punjab, Bathinda witnesses a keen contest with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal's daughter-in-law Harsimrat Kaur, who is wife of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal pitted against Raninder Singh, son of former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
Amarinder's wife Preneet Kaur faces 13 other candidates, including former MP Prem Singh Chandumajra (SAD) from Patiala. She is seeking re-election for the third time. The ruling SAD-BJP alliance, the opposition Congress and the BSP are contesting from all the four Lok Sabha constituencies.Besides Preneet Kaur from Patiala another sitting MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa (SAD) is contesting from Sangrur.
