Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today slammed Congress leaders charging them with making “baseless” allegations against him and threatened to expose the alleged misdeeds of the opposition party leaders.

“Let Congress leaders debate scandals of my government in Parliament, the BJP members will give them a befitting reply,” Yeddyurappa dared while speaking to reporters here on his return from New Delhi. The Congress leaders have been making wild allegations against his government to taint its image, he alleged. A report by Lokayukta on illegal mining recommended for recovery of Rs 36 crore from former Chief Minister N Dharam Singh, he said and asked “did the Congress take any action against that leader?” Yeddyurappa also hit out at allegations of filing false affidavit levelled against him by former Chief Minister S Bangarappa and posed “can anyone do this?”

He said he had visited Delhi to invite Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the upcoming World Kannada Literary Conference being held at Belgaum from March 11, but could not meet him.

He said he would discuss the issue of his cabinet expansion with BJP President Nitin Gadkari who would be in the city on February 20 and February 21.
