CM to lay foundation stone for Satyam facility

Marking a beginning to the proposed IT hub in Visakhapatnam, chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would lay the foundation stone for Satyam Computer Services Limited's proposed seven-acre software development centre in the heart of the port city tomorrow.
 
The chief minister is also scheduled to perform the ground-breaking ceremony to Satyam's another facility situated on the outskirts of Vizag on a sprawling 50 acre land, besides laying foundation stones to similar facilities of some local small and medium IT companies.
 
Over 200 acres of land has already been identified by the government authorities for the proposed IT hub in the area. Big ticket software companies including Infosys and Wipro are also poised to start their operations in Vizag in the near future.
 
Satyam is going to employ around 5,000 software professionals in its Rs 150-crore Vizag software development centre, Ratna Prabha, officer on special duty, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) at Visakhapatnam, said in a press release.
 
An additional employment for over 7,000 professionals is being offered by other IT majors and SMEs such as Wipro, TCS, Kenexa, ILabs, Mahati Software, Sankhya Technologies, Miracle Software Systems, Navayuga Infotech and Vega Data , who are in the process of setting up their shops, according to Ratna Prabha.
