Executive Director of CMES , Gulshan Sharma while announcing the launch, said that north india with diverse culture, pilgrimage places, palaces, forts and landscapes had every potential to be promoted for cinematic tourism .
Sharma said that CMES would initiate talks with the respective state governments in north to provide incentives, concessions, and other facilities like tax concession, creating requisite infrastructure for the promotion of cinematic tourism.
Also CMES would assist Bollywood directors in scouting for location in northern states besides encouraging them to produce movies based on local customs.
Besides they would help the bollywood producers to set up mini production houses , film city and related infrastructure facilities.
Sharma said that CMES would also start a three year degree course in Media Entertainment and Film Technology , for students who are interested in entering the entertainment industry.The three year degree course would commence in the later half of the year.

Sharma announced that considering the significant relationship between entertainment and industry , CMES would organise national level conference on September 27( Tourism Day) to create awareness about socio -economic benefits of promoting tourism.
Also CMES proposes at annual Parvasi Punjabi Divas in 2009 a special session would be devoted for the Non Resident Indians to encourage them to invest in film productions which would contribute towards overall economic growth of region and result in employment generation.
