The sixth edition of 'TechTop 2011 – National Innovation Contest,’ highly sought after by engineering students across the country, has seen some path breaking prototypes over the last two days.
Among the 18 colleges which competed for the recognition by showcasing their innovations at the exhibition, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering of Kanjirapally (Kottayam district) bagged the first prize of Rs 100,000 for a project on 'low-cost pepper separator'.
The second prize of Rs 50,000 was won by CET, Jalna (Maharashtra) for its ‘seeding machine’ project and the third prize of Rs 30,000 has been given to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam, for a project on 'density and priority based traffic control system using computer vision in arm processor’.
The projects selected after the final screening would be eligible for incubation support from Technopark Technology Business Incubation Center (T-TBI), where an opportunity is given to convert innovative ideas into a commercial venture.
