With his party set to return to power for the second consecutive term, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the Congress high command will decide on the name of the candidate for the coveted post.

"I am a disciplined soldier of the party...Its the high command which will decide on the name of the candidate for the Chief Minister's post," an elated Hooda said here.

Hooda, who started his day on a normal note by playing badminton, said that there was a set procedure in the Congress which was followed for the nomination of chief minister. "I am a candidate for the Chief Minister's post and not a claimant," he reiterated.

He refuted that he would put pressure on the party high command to retain him as the Chief Minister. "All decisions of the Congress high command will be binding upon me," he said.

"I will serve the people of the state," he said, adding that his agenda would be to further accelerate the pace of development initiated during his last regime in the state.

If the Congress wins, it will be the first party in the state to take command in two successive terms since the creation of Haryana in 1966.
