Noisy scenes were witnessed in the Lok Sabha today as Congress MPs from West Bengal vociferously demanded suspension of the Question Hour to debate the "deteriorating" law and order situation in the State.

As the House met for the day, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary (Cong) was on his feet, to voice concern over the "worsening situation" in West Bengal, which witnessed violence yesterday during a party-sponsored bandh.

CPI(M) leader Basudeb Acharia objected to the member raising the issue, even as Speaker Meira Kumar asked Chaudhary to take it up during the Zero Hour.

To this, Chaudhary relented and the House continued with its normal business.
