Cong nominees defeated in Amravati, Chandrapur

The ruling Congress in Maharashtra on Monday received yet another jolt after the party candidates lost Amravati and Chandrapur constituencies to BJP nominees in the election to the Maharashtra Legislative Council. Congress party's co partner Nationalist Congress Party comfortably won in the Konkan and Parbhani constituencies while both NCP and Shiv Sena candidates got 224 votes in Nashik.
