Although Shinde said he saw no reason to offer his resignation or own responsibility for the Solapur defeat, the issue of responsibility led to squabbles breaking out between PCC Chief Gurudas Kamat and prominent Congress leader from Mumbai, Murli Deora.
The only political leader who watched serenely from the sidelines was Maratha strongman and NCP leader Sharad Pawar.
