Congress not to blame Pawar for Solapur defeat

 It is now clear that though the Congress is losing ground rapidly in Maharashtra to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), it does not have the stomach to break the alliance, fearing a worse electoral fate.

 Although Shinde said he saw no reason to offer his resignation or own responsibility for the Solapur defeat, the issue of responsibility led to squabbles breaking out between PCC Chief Gurudas Kamat and prominent Congress leader from Mumbai, Murli Deora.

 The only political leader who watched serenely from the sidelines was Maratha strongman and NCP leader Sharad Pawar.
