In a veiled attack on estranged nephew Raj Thackeray, Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has said Congress is trying to divide Marathi people by taking someone's help.
Asked to comment on allegations that Sena tickets for the October 13 assembly polls in Maharashtra were "sold", Thackeray said, "who is levelling these allegations. Such a thing won't happen at least in Shiv Sena. If at all someone 'buys' ticket and people come to know, they will not elect him".
In an interview published in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana', Thackeray did not name Raj but said "Congress is trying to divide Marathi people by taking someone's help. Why do you trust them ?"
Blaming people for electing Congress-led governments again and again, the 83-year old Shiv Sena chief said, "you know Congress is bad, but still you vote for that party".
In his usual style, Thackeray accused Congress politicians from the state of bowing before a "foreign lady", an obvious reference to Sonia Gandhi.
Thackeray reiterated his old demand of implementing a permit system to curb influx of migrants to Mumbai. Such a system is in use in Russia, he added.
