Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan tonight alleged that there was a "conspiracy" to keep actor Sanjay Dutt from contesting Lok Sabha elections.
"Several problems were created to ensure that Sanjay does not contest polls.... But we (SP) made him party general secretary," Jaya said, addressing an election rally in suburban Jogeshwari.
Alleging that the Congress was backing BJP and BSP in Uttar Pradesh, Jaya held it responsible for the attacks on north Indians in Maharashtra.
"Whatever happened in Maharashtra ... I don't have to mention their names, but Congress is responsible for this," she said, adding "people from UP were treated badly".
Criticising BJP, LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan said "the country belongs to Hindus, Dalits, Muslims and Brahmins. If the gardener is good, not only Lotus (BJP symbol) but flowers of all types bloom."
After arrest of Malegaon blast accused, BJP was not in a position to speak, Paswan alleged.
