Unicef today launched a knowledge portal - Sisusamrakshak - developed by city-based CoOptions Technologies.
The portal will provide key information and content pertaining to women's health during pregnancy, nutrition, child development, safe motherhood, immunization, ideal hygiene practices, common illnesses and their remedies etc.
The information pages of the portal are aimed at the illiterate and semi literate women, Anganwadi workers and village health workers. The content is made available both in English and Telugu.
The portal will be temporarily available as a sub-section on indiaruralworld.com, after which a separate URL will be created.
Explaining the salient features of the portal to media here, William B Thompson, the Andhra Pradesh represantative of Unicef, disclosed that the project had three phases with the first part, i.e., the information part getting launched today by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
