The Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (Cowe) is setting up a food park at Kucharam village in Medak district, which is expected to attract 100 companies in four-five clusters and investments to the tune of Rs 200 crore, said Cowe’s management committee member and past president Suman Kumar.
“The food park, coming up on 50 acres in Toopran mandal, will comprise clusters for food processing, mushroom, dairy and soya. We plan to start allotting plots to the registrants this year and expect the park to be fully operational by the end of next year,” Kumar told Business Standard.
The Hyderabad-based non-profit business organisation, floated to bring about social and economic upliftment of women force through entrepreneurship, has 500 members.
“We are currently holding discussion with the Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) for funding the project through the Integrated Infrastructure Development scheme. Cowe, on its part, will incubate some units in the food park, which will also entail a 25 per cent subsidiary from the central government,” she added.
It is also setting up a 30-acre automotive industrial park in Toopran mandal. The park will house 27 automotive ancillary and engineering units and is expected to attract investments of Rs 60 crore. The park will go on stream by the middle of next year, Kumar added.
Cowe, with the support of the Madurai Small and Tiny Industries Association (Madhisia), the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Fapcci) and the state government, is organising a trade carnival in Hyderabad from October 10.
“The three-day B2B (business-to-business) event will have 161 stalls including 126 from women entrepreneurs, showcasing and selling fashionware, handicrafts, home need products, decoration items, jewellery and consumer durables,” said Cowe president Uma Ghurka.
