News programmes on Doordarshan (DD) should highlight the various development programmes undertaken in Maharashtra, chief secretary V Ranganathan observed during his discussions with the director general of DD, S Y Qureshi, on Tuesday. This would help acquaint people about the day-to-day welfare activities in the state, he added.
Ranganathan noted that, compared to other states, Maharashtra got minimal coverage on the national telecasts. He urged that a progressive state like Maharashtra should get more coverage in the Marathi news telecasts on Mumbai Doordarshan.
