The Delhi High Court today did not order a stay on the process of airports' privatisation as sought by Reliance Airport Developers of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Enterprises.A divisional bench of Justice T S Thakur and Justice B N Chaturvedi said any equity transfer reached by Airports Authority of India (AAI) with theGMR-Fraport and GVK-ASA consortium for the modernisation of Delhi and Mumbai airports, respectively, would be subject to its final verdict. While submitting that the tender process was transparent, AdditionalSolicitor-General Gopal Subramanium said the government did not have ablueprint of the airports before floating the tender, adding that Airplan, the technical advisor, had given some suggestions in this regard. The union government, GMR-Fraport and GVK Industries had yesterday given an undertaking that any such transfer of equity or reaching of agreements with the AAI would be subject to the final outcome of the court. Both the companies had assured the court that they would abide by its final verdict in the tender dispute and hence any expenditure incurred by them in the project would be at their 'own peril.'
