Delhi government today gave its approval to set up a joint venture firm for a 1500MW power plant in Haryana.The decision was taken in a meeting of the Delhi cabinet headed by the Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit here today. "The power plant to be set up at Jhajjar in Haryana will be owned and constructed by National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC)," Dikshit said. The project cost is estimated at Rs 6,750 crore. Delhi and Haryana will each have 24.5% equity in the Rs 6,750 crore power plant, which will equally distribute 1500MW power between them.All efforts will be made to ensure the timely completion of the project before the Commonwealth Games, Dikshit said.
