Dey was murdered when he was on way to his shop.
While granting the regular bail, the court held that the narco test had no value as evidence unless supported by other proof.
The Jamshedpur police had made Singh a co-accused in the Dey murder case on the basis of confession of another accused, Jitendra Kumar Singh, alias Papu Don, who had admitted Singh's involvement during his narco-analysis test.
The police had also done narco tests on Binod Singh in Ahamedabad and Bangolore. The narco tests of Bangalore had mentioned that Singh was in the know of murder plot of the shoe baron. The slain shoe baron's residence at Aam Bagan in Jamshedpur was also attacked by four assailants who came on motorcycles on May 16 this year, just two days after the filing of the charge-sheet in the court by police.
The attackers ignored the presence of carbine-armed guards and policemen at the house, who failed to respond or fire back when the assailants started firing indiscriminately at the front entrance of Dey's residence. A few bullets hit the windows of the house. Luckily, there were no casualties in the May 16 shootout.
