Having agreed to keep the subscription rates unchanged at Rs 14, Ten Sports has gone on an agreement signing spree. It has inked over 2000 agreements in the past two days. But, differences still persists on the connectivity aspect.

In Ahmedabad, only Siticable is telecasting the channel. The remaining multi service operators (MSOs), InCable, Syndicate Cable and Nine Plus Network, are not showing Ten Sports.

Ten Sports has acquired the rights for telecast of the India-Pakistan cricket series, that begins from Thursday. Earlier, cable operators across the state had announced that they will boycott the channel if it attempted to increase subscription rates.

Pramod Pandya, president of Ahmedabad and Gujarat Cable Operators Association, said cable operators are still trying to work out a solution so that cricket lovers of Ahmedabad do not miss the cricket action.

"Since Siticable has the distributorship of Ten Sports in Ahmedabad city, its customers are not facing problems. But for cable operators of other MSOs, they are seeking five times more connectivity charges," he stated.

Although Siticable has the largest reach in Ahmedabad's cable television market, InCable, Syndicate Cable and Nine Plus Network too have a sizable number of homes where cable services are provided.

Some cable operators here are now attempting to work out a compromise with the channel, agreeing to pay more for receiving services only on the days when the one-day international matches and the test matches between India and Pakistan will be played.
