Doctor held for aiding militants

The accused, identified as Sharif Mohmed Shabbir Ahmed, is said to be an activist of the banned Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
 
Police are likely to interrogate Ahmed, resident of Sapana Sizing in Malegaon, in connection with the car that was used by the militants on May 9 at Aurangabad.
 
The militants escaped in the car when they were intercepted by police.
 
A diary and a mobile phone have also been seized from his possession, police said.
 
The car was found abandoned in Sayne-Shivar at Malegaon on Friday and police arrested four persons "� Riyaj Ahmed Mohmed Ramjan (36), Mushtaq Ahmed Mohmed Issac (25),Javid Ahmed Abdul Maji (28) and Afjal Khan Nabi Khan (26)"� in this connection.
 
Earlier, in a joint operation with Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS), police seized six boxes, containing five AK 47 rifles, 20 magazines, 13 kg RDX, and one thousand live catridges from an electricals shop in Nashik.
 
After seizure of arms in Aurangabad and Manmad, police and ATS have started search of arms from Malegaon to Aurangabad, police said.
