The Dow Jones industrial average gained 29 points at 11,718, the index was just three points shy from its record closing high touched in 2000. The index touched an intra-day high of 11,728, while its all-time record intra-day high is 11,750. The Nasdaq moved up seven points to 2270.Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. ICICI Bank rallied 1.5% to $30.64. Wipro and MTNL were up nearly 1% each at $13.13 and $6.61, respectively. Satyam and Dr.Reddy's slipped 2% each to $38.80 and $15.82, respectively. Infosys and VSNL were the other notable losers. The crude oil futures for November delivery slipped 20 cents to settle at $62.76 per barrel on the NYMEX.
