The Indian Cotton Mills Federation (ICMF) has asked the government to withdraw anti-dumping proceedings on imports of polyester staple fibre (PSF) into the country as imports of the fibre in India were always marginal and account for less than 2 per cent of the total production.
Moreover, the blended yarn spinning industry is still suffering from a low supply of PSF and needs to import adequate quantities of the fibre to maintain exports of blended yarn and make blended fabrics available to the domestic consumers.
Therefore, there is no reason for initiating anti-dumping duty, it said.
