e-filing @ Gandhidham

Saurashtra and Kutch based industries will soon get their own e-filing facility center at Gandhidham.

This centre will reduce the hassles of traders traveling to Ahmedabad to file the annual results and other company's documents.

The whole Saurashtra and Kutch region has approximately 7,000 to 8,000 industries.

In an seminar organized by Institute of Company Secretary of India (ICSI) and Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI), M P Shah, deputy registrar of Gujarat ROC, said, "We will set up an e-filing facility in Gandhidham by the end of July to cater the industries based in Saurashtra and Kutch region".

The Gujarat's Registrar of Companies (ROC) has already set up two Public Front Office (PFO) centers at Ahmedabad and Vadodara respectively. The third PFO center in Surat will be flagged off by the end of June, said Shah.

Speaking further on the proposed PFO center, he said, "The necessity to have an e-filing center was to cater the large presence of industries in Saurashtra and Kutch region and other upcoming industries".

He further informed that in the first phase, the ROC has completed the digital scanning of basic data of 28,000 companies out of the total 48,000 registered companies in Gujarat.

While the remaining balance of 20,000 inactive companies' digital scanning of document will be completed in the second phase by ROC.

He also informed that in last one and half month after the implementation of MCA -21 in Gujarat, less than one percent of Gujarat-based industries are using the online filing system and most of the industries are filing their documents through the PFO route.

While showing support for the MCA "� 21 on the behalf of the industry fraternity, S M Vaishnav, company secretary and VP (legal), Lanxess ABS, said, "The MCA -21 is a novel concept that will reduce the hassle and it will reduce default as well".

While the city's renowned practicing company secretary, Devesh Pathak, urged the professionals and industrialists to gear-up themselves for MCA -21 project.

For the initial three years the PFO will aid the companies in e-filing and later dismantled.

However, MCA "� 21 was implemented in state from April 19, of the current fiscal year.
