Disclosing this at a high- level interactive session with the directors and chairman and managing directors of the four distribution companies (Discoms) held at Vidyut Soudha on Saturday, the APTRANACO chairman and managing director, Rachel Chaterjee, stated that the power companies had been ranked according to their performance, mainly in improving revenues and consumer services.
The EPDCL covers the coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari in the state.
While reviewing the performance of the four companies, Chatterjee expressed satisfaction over the customer service and call centres established at all district head quaters, saying that they had yielded excellent results in providing better quality services to the urban consumers.
The same will be extended to all the rural areas in the state, she said. The service standards are prescribed by the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Special focus will be made to continue the present programme of conducting Vidyut Adalats at mandal headquarters every monday for on-the-spot redressal of consumer grievences and all other complaints regarding bills, meters, voltage fluctuations.
With the help of UK-based IT experts, an innovative machanism based on information technology-reliability indicators had been introduced in four Discoms to create a interruption free system in a phased manner.
