The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday released a staff report on the Indian economy. The report was prepared under Article IV of the IMF's articles of agreement. Under it, fund economists visit a country to discuss its economic and financial policies with government and central bank officials. Then, they prepare a report highlighting the key concerns, direction of the economy and their prescription. The report also carries views of authorities. Consultations with India concluded on November 26 and the staff report was completed on January 9 this year
