Food Corporation of India (FCI), the country's nodal foodgrain procurement and distribution agency, today said it named Deepak Kumar Panwar as its new Chairman.
Panwar, who replaces Alok Sinha, is an IAS officer of the 1974 batch from Andhra Pradesh, the FCI statement said.
Prior to joining FCI, Panwar was Additional Chief Secretary and Chief Commissioner, Land Administration, Andhra Pradesh. He has also undertaken important assignments both in the State and at the Centre, according to the statement.
