The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci), in co-operation with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and CONFINDUSTRIA, Ficci's counterpart in Italy, is mounting a business delegation to Italy from November 6-9.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath will lead the delegation. Nine industrialists and a few senior government officials will share business experiences with their Italian counterparts.

The delegation will focus on initiating business talks between small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in both the countries and will also provide a roadmap for partnerships. It will also explore possibilities in agro-processing, gems and jewellery, auto components (including castings and forgings), textiles, leather, machine tools and mechanics.

"The managing director of the Madhya Pradesh Audyogik State Industrial Development Corporation (MPSIDC), Praveen Garg, will participate in the delegation on behalf of Pithampur Auto Cluster Ltd, a company created under a government of India scheme with an investment of Rs 80 crore on a private-partnership basis," an industry source told Business Standard.

Industrialists like Rajesh Khare of Evon Industries, CP Sharma and Satish Sharma of Daulat Ram Industries, Vinod Daga and Neeraj Daga of Betul Oils, Naveen Vachhani of Yash Petequip, and Vijay Gupta of Gujarat Ambuja will be part of the delegation from Madhya Pradesh.

"Garg will visit Turin for information on Italian auto clusters. He will also make a presentation," said the source. Other industrialists will have business-to-business meetings for multi-sector enterprises.

"Kamal Nath will focus more on boosting MP-Italy business relationships," the source added.

Apart from business-to-business meetings for the multi-sector enterprises, there will be visits to Italian SME clusters. According to the source, 145 industries from all over the country will participate in the business trip.
